Urgently needed advice on this STI

5 posts in this topic

hi, no harm in going down to inspect e car n keep n open mind, ask e dealer/seller questions, look out for tell tale signs eg. if front brake discs look worn, cos at 20000km it should not look like the discs hv been used for 50000km, sit in drivers seat n put on e seat belt then look at e point where e belt bends where u lock e belt in place, if e color of belt is even u quite safe but if it discolored/frayed, then u know it is not 20000km, engage e gear from 1-6 without starting, feel if it is firm n precise (good) or lose n worn (bad), check under boot tray (look out for original weld lines), engine compartment (if too new, no gd cos resprayed, look out for oil leaks), under floor mats and use common sense to make yr decision... YES.. must be very careful when buying used car... don wanna be snooked... but... not all are bad...if it is really low mileage, stock standard, accident free then you will save $$$$$ from new and when you sell in future u will lose less... good luck!!

I looked at the same car early in June when was thinking of switching to an STI. Dealer said it was a Bridgestone tyre show car and previously owned by their MD in Singapore. Should not be difficult to check.

Surprised it has not been sold already.
