Anyone here installed Voltage Stabilizers in their ride? Was at the workshop and saw a SGT driver telling me it works for him.
Some say its snake oil, some claim it works?

hey people, hows the reliability of this car? Thinking to get the 2.0 version..

I heard that subaru traditionally have quite some problems..

this version, weak radiator (leaks around 80-100k), weak power steering and aircon compressor (fails around 100-120k).

Everything else is just standard wear and tear.

If u mod engine internals then be prepared for bigger bills

That being said, its overall a nice ride =)

I just changed to a RS Manual as well, about 2 months back. Was on a cork-eye rex for more than 5 years but guess its time is up.

Wanna change to other make (not because Subaru is not good, but more for a refreshing change), but due to the car price now, Subaru is still more affordable than other make. 2 litre Subaru (though manual) depre is lower than a 1.6 Toyota Altis. So needless to say, stick to Subaru.

Imagine a Rex with 6k+ depreciation a year VS a 10k depreciation a year RS.

Agree Subaru is well known for a few problems, but however, the overall maintance will still be lower than most conti car I believe. Steerling pump is the most well known problem.

FC getting around 10-11km + /litre. But having that, 70-80% on express way. Totally stock, cause wanna save money and see no point in modding. Maybe will change air filter to K&N that's all.

Hi Guys, wanna check. Is the gear box CVT or not? i kept having this thought that its CVT. If it's not can i use the Toyota ATF will do?

3rd gen RS uses 4EAT, not CVT.

Not sure if you can use Toyota ATF though.

Thanks SSGT.. Any idea how much is needed for the RS2.0 gear box? 1 tin enough.. Lucky it's this.. It's much cheaper to replace the fluid.. Shall buy 3 tins..

I think one 4l tin if just drain and fill. If flush at least 2 tins.

I just renewed my COE. Current mileage roughly 230,000km. Since I've already change a lot of stuff and I roughly know how to diagnose most problems, I feel confident the car can last 3-5 more years.

mine is not due until June next year, and i intend to have mine renewed too..
have most of the wear and tear replaced, and looking forward for another 10 years.

I am also waiting to renew COE.
Bad thing is body / unique parts need to order in as our model no longer popular.
Have you all changed engine/gear mounting before ?
