Exporting WRX out rather than scrapping

6 posts in this topic

Hi Bros, has anyone tried to sell their WRX overseas to Australia or Malaysia on their own?

Figured will get a lot more money back from exporting the car on my own rather than scrapping my car locally for peanuts ($500).

If any of you Bros have done it, then please share. Thanks.

If your car got alot of goodies.. it makes more sense to strip out to sell and scrap.. If its close to stock, its better to export out.. I only know exporter offer a body value of around 3.5K-4K for exporting STI, wrx I am not sure...

hi Buddy, thanks for the tips. I'm also tempted to strip out the stuff and sell, but it's so troublesome. A lot of the stuff done to my car is engine internals and the usual brembo brakes, etc. It will be a hassle to have to sell these items part by part. And for the done up forged engine, there's no way else to sell it unless to do an engine swap. That's why I'd rather export the car whole to someone who would pay more for a fully done up car. Can earn back at least 10K+ on top of the PARF value returned by govt when the car is de-registered.

Problem is finding a serious buyer and then the paper work to export the car, but it should be worth the effort, cos car exporters are making so much money off exporting cars.

I dun think you will get 10k more than ur parf, cars other than sg are simply too cheap to even considering getting another from us. Unless u own an exotic model. And most will prefer Sti. If u lucky, u might get 2k more than ur parf.
